more about botox injections (scroll down for dermal fillers)

the MHRA granted a license for cosmetic use of Botox® in February 2006. Also known as Vistabel®, Botox® has in recent years grown beyond its 'Hollywood' reputation to become an acceptable, mainstream solution to addressing and managing the natural ageing process.

frown lines (between eyebrows), worry lines (forehead), laughter lines (corners of eyes) - they all become more pronounced as we age, and for millions of people these simple injections provide a wonderful solution, turning back the clock visibly and giving renewed confidence in their appearance.

how does it work?

by using facial muscles repeatedly throughout a lifetime, the skin becomes creased in areas of greatest use. as skin ages it loses elasticity, so these creases become permanent. by reducing the movement of muscles in these areas the skin stops being creased and has the opportunity to recover.

Botox® is a natural protein which temporarily blocks neuromuscular transmission - in other words it temporarily stops the chemical messages travelling from the nerve to the muscle.

treated areas appear smoother and less wrinkled. this is called cosmetic denervation. the muscles start recovering after about 4 months on average.

what happens during treatment?

a very fine needle is inserted precisely though several layers of the skin and a small amount of diluted Botox ® is injected. local anaesthetic cream may be applied to the areas prior to treatment and the procedure is relatively painless.

are there any side effects?

side effects are very rare, though bruising is the most common. there are others but all possibilities will be explained to you in detail before any treatment takes place.

Botox® treatments are safe, effective and very quick. the results are not immediately visible but will become apparent within 3-10 days.

more about Restylane fillers

Restylane® delays the signs of ageing by giving Nature a helping hand.  It boosts the skin’s hydration system to refresh looks naturally by restoring youthful volume to the skin. So if creams are no longer living up to their promise and surgery is a step too far, Restylane is probably the ideal treatment for you.

Restylane is an injectable gel which enhances your looks in a natural and subtle way, achieving the beauty lift you desire so you can look good and feel great. A Restylane treatment should always be administered by a medically qualified healthcare practitioner.

How it works

Youthful skin is rich in hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid has a vital function in the skin. It binds water and thereby hydrates the skin and keeps it fresh, firm and healthy.  As we age the function and distribution of hyaluronic acid in our skin gradually changes which leads to loss of skin elasticity, leading to the characteristic signs of ageing, eg lines and wrinkles and change in facial shape.

Restylane when injected into the skin replenishes your own natural stocks of hyaluronic acid.  It works at a deep dermal level to stimulate the production of collagen and improve skin elasticity, softening the appearance of facial lines and restoring youthful volume and shape to the face.

A Restylane procedure is very quick and the results can be seen immediately.

More about Restylane

Millions of people worldwide have used Restylane with confidence. It is the world’s most widely used hyaluronic acid aesthetic treatment.

Restylane is safe

Restylane’s safety and efficacy is well proven, underpinned by robust clinical evidence spanning over 10 years.

Restylane is natural

Restylane’s hyaluronic acid is unique because it resembles closely the skin’s own hyaluronic acid in the skin. This reduces the risks of inflammatory reactions. Restylane does not affect facial expression or facial movement.

Restylane is long lasting but not permanent

Restylane gives you flexibility and control over your looks. Because your face changes shape as you age, you want to avoid a permanent look you might regret in years to come.

Restylane is non-animal

In contrast to some other hyaluronic acid-based products, the hyaluronic acid in Restylane is not extracted from animals. This means there is no risk of transmitting disease or eliciting allergic reactions if you are sensitive to common foods, such as chicken and eggs.

Restylane is a quick treatment

A Restylane procedure is very quick and usually entails minimal downtime which means it fits easily into a busy lifestyle.  Treatment results can be seen instantly.
